Diana, Princess of Wales is the latest British royal icon to get the biopic treatment, courtesy of director Oliver Hirschbiegel (‘Downfall’). Naomi Watts looks nothing like Diana, but judging by the trailer they’ve managed to capture her hairstyle and regal fashion sense well, and the actress surely has the poise and likability to play the princess. The supporting cast doesn’t provide many more star names, and screenwriter Stephen Jeffreys is only known for the Johnny Depp vehicle ‘The Libertine. Nice lady and all for sure, but how will this measure up to Stephen Frears’ accomplished ‘The Queen’?
