The Lamborghini Veneno supercar hit the scene to a lukewarm reception, at best, but the lack of media and enthusiast frenzy sure didn’t stop it from planning a roadster version. Numerous British magazines reported that the Veneno Roadster will be built in limited edition, but unlike the coupe version there will be nine units offered. Prices will be kept in the same area as for the coupe version, so, if you plan on buying a Veneno Roadster, you’ll need to pay about $4 million to get it.
The Roadster version will look pretty much identical to its coupe brother, so no chance for it to drop that crazy exterior look. The only difference will be the car’s roof, which we expect to be a two-piece unit made from carbon fiber, like in the Aventador Roadster. To help give you an idea of what to expect, we created a rendering that you can see above.
Under the hood, the roadster will use the same engines as the the Veneno Coupe, meaning it will feature a 6.5-liter V-12 engine with an output of 750 horsepower.
The Veneno is based on the Aventador supercar, but it adds a crazier exterior design. Up front, it gets a large aerodynamic wing with huge channels and Y-shaped angular headlamps, while the rear gets a substantial diffuser hiding the four exhaust pipes divided by a splitter.
Under its hood, the Veneno features the same V-12 engine found in the Aventador, but with the output increased to 750 horsepower. Since the Veneno is about 275 pounds lighter than the Aventador, its performance numbers are slightly better, as it hits 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds and up to a top speed of 221 mph.
