Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 debuted in the top slot on the Media Create charts, moving 277,082 units in three days on PS3. The Square Enix title bested the debut of Super Mario 3D World by 177,494 units. Full report below.
According to Siliconera, Lightning Return’s sales are the lowest opening figures for the Final Fantasy 13 trilogy – about 18% of the original Final Fantasy 13's first week sales.
Final Fantasy 13 sold 1,501,964 copies in its first week, and Final Fantasy 13-2 managed 524,217 sales.
3DS LL continued to be the best-selling hardware for the period, with Vita holding on to number two – despite selling 25,306 units less than the week before.
Last week’s number three, Vita TV, fell to number six moving 34,304 less than its debut week.
Super Mario 3D World gave Wii U a must needed boost, moving the console into the three spot with 21,002 units sold, compared to the prior week’s 15,906.
