Parents need to know that The Wolf of Wall Street stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Jordan Belfort, a Long Island stockbroker who earned thousands of dollars by the minute during his rise to the top of the financial world throughout the '90s. Unlike Boiler Room, which was loosely inspired by Belfort's life, director Martin Scorsese based The Wolf of Wall Street directly on Belfort's best-selling memoir of the same name. The extravagant partying, rocky personal life, and immoral business practices that earn Belfort his notorious nickname are also what ultimately send him on a downward spiral. Expect rampant substance use, sex, consumerism, and strong language in this mature and dramatic biopic.
